Stephen provides sales and use tax consulting and state income/franchise tax consulting and other miscellaneous state tax services to clients of varying sizes and entity types. He has spoken at or been featured in the Atlanta Business Chronicle, Accounting Today, Thompson Reuters, Georgia Restaurant Association, Georgia Society of CPAs, and others. In addition, Stephen has developed particular expertise in advising technology companies with sales tax nexus and taxability issues, obtaining voluntary disclosure agreements, and advising companies in becoming compliant prospectively in addition to conducting buy- and sell side state tax due diligence and preparing technology companies for M&A deals. Prior to joining Bennett Thrasher, Stephen spent five years at Deloitte Tax, LLP in the Multistate Tax Services line, providing state income/franchise tax consulting, compliance and ASC 740 (provision) services to large corporate taxpayers.
